Wow its interesting to hear that an online social network has actually united people for something that matters.
Twitter used to stir up the protesters was ingenious and its also a way that the people can talk amongst themselves without the government trying to quit the situation down.
If it wasn't for twitter than the violence most likely wouldn't have lit up but the attention towards the controversy wouldn't either.
The people know there rights and they're not afraid to tweet about them.

I believe any social network can further human rights by expressing general opinions and ideas on topics and problems. By helping to spread word and news people outside of the region become more aware of what is going on outside of their own region. Social problems and relations become more known and action is sometimes tooken from this. Although everyone's opinion or idea may not be liked or respected, social networks such as Twitter can help spread awareness of problems outside of one's country and bring cause for action.
