Local News | Hundreds of new laws take effect in Washington state | Seattle Times Newspaper

The WA State Legislature adjourned a couple of months ago, but their work will be felt starting this week. Check out: Hundreds of new laws take effect in Washington state.
"Same-sex couples gain dozens of new rights, cougar hunts with dogs are expanded, and authorities will work to track gang activity statewide."

I think the addition of new laws is necessary sometimes. I understand some laws might be very small changes but can make a big difference in the long run. The common good of the people should be in mind with the addition of new laws and to make the state a better place to live in. I think hundreds of laws is a little unnecessary but many are probably small things that won't apply to everyone. Overall I think if the high authorities of our state think all of these laws are good for the people of the state than it is a good move. -Tucker Rockwell 5th Period 06/11/08

Kyle Johnson make up current events

hey coraggio! man hundreds of laws is a ton! however the laws they talked about like gay marriage and saving orcas are quite important. I see these issues on the news almost every day and they are what people seem to be most interested in. Being able to satisfy a lot of people and gain the image that they care is a big part of gaining back trust from their fellow americans. Some times the smallest laws can have the biggest impact and this to me seems like it couldmake a huge diference.
