Doh!

Tuesday night was not a happy result for Obama supporters. I think Hillary is great and all, but I was really hoping the Democratic Party would be on its way to unifying behind Obama. Instead we are facing many more weeks of our two top candidates going after one another while John McCain gets to hang out at the White House and look Presidential.

I'll leave it to you to find some links to political coverage, do you think these developments will hurt the Democrat's chances of winning the Presidency in the fall? There are some that think it isn't a bad thing for the eventual winner of the Democratic nominee.

Meanwhile, if you were wondering, here is the lowdown and the upcoming contests:
Countdown to Wyoming: 2 days
Countdown to Mississippi: 5 days
Countdown to Pennsylvania: 47 days
Countdown to Election Day 2008: 243 days
Countdown to Inauguration Day 2009: 320 days

So this is Hellen speaking again...........
Yes I agree with what you are saying i really do wish that there was a way that all Democrats can run against republicans and only have those titles for what they follow when viewing things in their opinions. I would have to say that I only beleive this for this situation. I mean when you have these two amazing people running against eachother as democrats, then you have MCCain who is just chilling doing absolutely nothing and basically has an automatic win for that side and the decision coming from two demcorats that it would acually make sense for them to run against eachother don't get to because they are both democrats. Sometimes I feel that the Government handles things in the fairest ways, but I feel that in these situations that things are not as fair as they can be. usually it's a fair competition but honestly, Mc Cain isnt gettting any attention because he is so typical. That is why Hillary and Barack should be running against eachother..... if only Barack was a republican. I really don't feel that the Democrats are getting hurt of losing the deomcrats chances of winning the presidency in the fall, I really feel that they will do fine once they find out who wins, but even better, i beleive if Barack wins

I found it interesting that Hellen thinks they should run agianst each other. I am completely opposite, I think they should run together. Which one would be willing to step down and take the VP spot would be tough to tell considering lately they have been "bickering" about the idea. They have such similar views but such different personalities that i think together they could reach a lot more of the american voters. The press and publicity devoted to the democratic race verifies I think the interest people have in it and I don't think that they would be tempted to move toward voting for McCain if the candidate they support were to lose the nomination. Both feel so strongly about improving the country and with Barack's passion and Hillary's experience they would make a great team. Mr C you said that the coverage might hurt the democratic party but i think that even though it should really just wrap up and decide it is also good that the people are interested in what the candidates have to say and are split, hopefully actually listening to what they say and deciding who will better lead this country out of the global position Mr Bush put us in. If they were not interested and the race was quickly decided with only the democratic and republican candidates to choose from i would be more concerned. How the delegate convention goes however is a different story, if the candidate race is too close and must be chosen out of the hands of the people i'm not sure the excitement will continue with it. The losing candidate's supporters will feel cheated and like their support didn't matter. I still am completely impartial in this race, neither candidate is making the impression on me that they seem to be making on everyone else.
