One reason we are in the economic mess we are in is because consumers have lost confidence. It is always going to be important to the well being of a nation for its citizens to support their government and the ideas that it stands for.
Mr.Obama has not made many significant changes on his own. However, as far as the first 100 days are concerned, President Obama has done quite a bit. Setting a deadline for withdrawl in Iraq, an unnecessary war that cost us more than a half of a trillion dollars and over 4,000 U.S. troops (not to mention the countless tens of thousands of innocent iraqi citizens that have lost their lives in this conflict) is a noticable departure from the Bush policies of the past 8 years and sure to help set this country on the right course. Also, a renewed commitment to not torturing is sure to help our diplomatic and moral standing throughout the world.
On the economic front, President Obama has proposed and lobbied for considerable legislation, namely the so-called "Stimulus plan". However, I believe the majority of the work on that bill was done in congress and not at the hands of President Obama.
