Debate Tonight!

Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama are debating on CNN tonight at 5:00 our time (PST).

It should be very interesting, because the last time they debated Hillary was the front-runner and ahead in the delegate count.

Now, the situation is reversed. Obama has a lead in both the number of states he has won and the number of delegates pledged to him. Texas and Ohio are two states with lots of delegates that are having primaries/caucuses on March 4th.

Most of the political commentators will say that while Obama is a much more inspiring orator, Clinton outshines him in the debate format, showing the depth of her knowledge on the issues. So, if you are watching, who do you think won, and why? Who was more convincing? Whose position on the issues did you agree with the most?

Another thing to think about - since time is running out on Clinton to gain ground on Obama, will she choose to go on the offensive and attack Obama with negative comments? If she does, how intense will the fireworks get?

Well... from what i think of the debate was that they both had very interesting things to say but i got to say that Obama has always caught my attention more than Hilary because of the way that he speaks. He just knows how to make a speach so the listener does not get bored, and well everything that he says just seems so real and it seems like he is real motivated and has the attitude to lead our country, and from that i can tell that Obama would make a great president and is not going to let us down..(i hope)... as for what i think on who is goin to win the election, i think that Obama is going to go all the way because he has the potential and well everybody likes OBAMA!!!!lol...at the begining I thought that Hilary was going to probably win because not only were there a lot of people going for her(specially women and a lot of latinos), but she caught everybody's eye not only wit what she said about some of the changes that she was going to make if elected but because she was a women. But thats not what matters. over all, who ever wins, i just hope that they are able to make great changes in our country and wont let anybody down(^_^)

I watched the debate and I feel that they disagreed on many things, such as how they were going to pay for health care. Although it seemed like they were trying to show how they agreed on many issues but in the very end it seemed like the clinton campaign was trying to play "catch up" because hilary seemed to want to be closer to the issues of Obama than vise versa. Obama definitely seemed more confident of his direction than hilary...

So, I must admit, I didn't get to see the debate. I was at the National Honors Society shindig, but I read all about it and watched some clips, so I'm gonna go off of what I can find online.

First of all, I read quite a bit on some of the low blows Hillary was pulling on Obama, and all I can do is shake my head in disappointment. First of all, the whole "actions speak louder than words" ordeal is absolutely ridiculous. His voting against the war in the first place is action enough for me. That shows that he has a position and he's stickin' with it, and he won't take any illusions our current president had been painting at the time of 9/11, which I believe is what Hillary once said regarding why she voted for the war. That may have been what another candidate said, but I think it's Hillary.

My point is, she shouldn't be saying stuff like that. According to Sicko, which I believe mainly because it convinced me that I need to move to Canada, France, or Britain, she sold out at one point when she was trying to promote national health care coverage during Bill's presidency. Now that's saying something. Of course, Sicko could be lying, I shouldn't believe everything in the media, but I dunno.. Michael Moore is quite the guy.

Anyways, I veered off topic. I'm glad that Obama stood up for himself when he noted that Clinton keeps saying "let's get real" to convince voters out of voting for Barack. Obama said something along the lines of, "And the implication is that the people who've been voting for me or are involved in my campaign are somehow delusional." I think if anyone's delusional, it is you, Miss Clinton! (those are my words, not Barack's)

So anyways, that's enough about their little shenanigans, I had better answer your other questions. I believe that Barack won the debate, mainly because I'm disappointed in Hillary on attacking Obama so much. Her tactic should have been to turn the spotlight on herself, not her opponent. Anyhow, I think that when the topic of change in Cuban government now that Castro is out of power came up, Barack had a better strategy. Hillary wanted to go in with preconditions, which I believe may make the new Castro upset and not want to deal with us, whereas Obama went without any demands.

So anyways, I'm tired, and I can't find anymore information on the debate. Therefore, I'm hittin the haystacks. Night!

i watched the debate and i thought that they both had very different ideas/opinions on what they would accomplish during their term as president. i think that Barack is a way better speaker too the public and knows how too keep everyone entertained with his energy and strong willed attitude. hilary on the other hand makes very good points on things and shows how politically smart she is, but listening to her talk makes me wanna fall asleep because she uses very little action and i dont find her funny at all.i think that barack won this debate because of the points he makes and things he plans too do. i also think he was more convincing because he just sounds more confident and powerful. hilary doesnt have time too waste with her weak negative comments towards barack either because they for sure dont have any effect on him and are hurting her in the long run.

i personally have been a Obama fan and always have liked what he has to say, and i do think think that Obama will when this debate. I think that Obama is way more convincing in what he has to say. They both talk about health care, but Obama says how hes going to make it affordable, accessible, and high quality for health care and its one of his top priorities of things he wants to do. Obama speaks in a way that sounds as if he is very sure of what he is doing and talking about. When he talks about getting people out of Iraq, i feel like he is truely meaning it and that he's not just saying it to get more votes. He honestly is one of the most convincing candidates we have in my opinion.

I go with Obamas position on issues over hilarys because i feel that hilary lets her husband speak to much for her and i feel that bill clinton doubts what both candidates are capable of doing. I think that Obama is capable of getting the tropps out of iraq even though some people doubt him, he does what he believes. this is how i feel about the issues.
